About the event
Most jurisdictions have published their final or near-final Basel III standards, but the implementation dates of those standards remain in question. The EU and UK have delayed introduction of the market risk standards until January 2027, and there is still uncertainty on the timing and scope of a re-proposal in the US. The impact of divergences in implementation across jurisdictions has raised concerns among market participants, particularly in terms of how it will affect the use of internal models for capital management.
This event will examine key developments and challenges related to the implementation of the trading book capital framework and discuss timelines, remaining challenges and future areas of focus. It will also look at the growth of the non-bank financial intermediation (NBFI) sector and consider the impact on financial stability, as well as the challenges banks and other stakeholders face in measuring and managing climate-related financial risks.
